From horses to cameras: My filmmaking journey

My path to documentary filmmaking began in 1984, a significant year when I traded chasing horses for studying Film & TV Production. It was in Colaiste Dhulaigh in Dublin that my passion for documentaries truly took root, setting the stage for a lifelong dedication to storytelling. This transition marked the beginning of Barrie Dowdall Films, a journey I continue with unwavering enthusiasm.
